"Critical" Arafat transfered-- CNN (not dead)
http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/11/04/arafat.health/index.html

"Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat has been transferred to another facility to receive treatment more appropriate for his condition, a spokesman for a Paris military hospital said Thursday.

The spokesman told reporters that Arafat is not dead. "

This was filed at 11:00 Eastern. The drama continues, just as the MSM wants...

3. Not disagreeing, but it is also in the best interests of some
to declare him dead before he is.

Just pointing out that there are conflicting stories.

Although, notice, other sources are saying "brain dead," while CNN is saying "not dead." They can be technically both correct.

6. Is he dead physically or just clinically….
Or….we’re about to get a new definition….

DJ French Doctors Say Yasser Arafat Is Still Alive

PARIS (AP)--Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat is alive, the head physician at
a French military hospital said Thursday, refuting reports saying the Palestinan
leader had died.
"Mr. Arafat is not dead," Christian Estripeau, a spokesman for the Percy
Military Training Hospital in Clamart outside Paris, told a news conference in a
brief statement.
Minutes earlier, the Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker said the
ailing leader had died.
Israel TV says the 75-year-old is clinically dead, although the Palestinian
Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia denies this.

7. Good riddance, it couldnt happen too soon.
I dont feel sorry for him. He was a terrorist.

I dont feel sorry for his wife. She said that she would gladly give the lives of her children to get rid of the Israeli Occupation. Im sorry... isnt it the parents who are supposed to protect the children?

8. Let's hear you say that next year, when the succession battle has
spilled into Israel, Jordan and Lebanon, and the body count is as high as Bush's in Iraq.

Arafat was the finger in the dike. The dike is about to burst.

Conservatives are so clueless. They thing it's all about individuals, that removing Hussein or Arafat or whomever will fix all the problems that created these people in the first place. Leaders rise up out of the needs of the groups they lead. When you are lucky you get a leader who can handle the burden, even when bloody, and when you are unlucky you get civil war. As we are seeing in Iraq, as we will see in Palestine, sometimes a bloody leader who keeps control is better than no leader and complete bloody anarchy.

Funny how the only one the Bush camp gets that about is the one person it isn't completely true about-- Usama bin Laden. UBL leads a group held together not be region or ethnicity, but only by his personality and a common cause. When he is gone, al-Qaeda becomes a hundred little angry enclaves who will begin fighting each other rather than us. But no, W thinks it's just peachy that UBL is still free.
