Three UK soldiers killed in Iraq
Well, that didn't take long after the redeployment ... damn.

Three British troops have been killed in Iraq, the Armed Forces Minister Adam Ingram has confirmed.

The deaths, as well as a number of other casualties, happened in the area patrolled by the Black Watch, but no more details have yet been released.

The 850-strong force have been attacked repeatedly since arriving at Camp Dogwood on Friday.

The troops were controversially redeployed to the base, 20 miles from Baghdad, following a US request.

3. And it's probably going to get worse...
I read in the Guardian that the colonel of the Black Watch is expecting that casualties may run as high as 20%.

That the Black Watch is also being supported by a unit from an Irish regiment, and a contingent of Royal Marines.

Well I guess those men will be home before Christmas, at least for them it's over.

10. "fusilier" means "rifleman".
And the regiment's been around since 1689 (you DO mean the Royal Welch Fusiliers, I assume). So the name isn't silly, it's just somewhat archaic. Tradition and history, you know.

And it seems just a bit callous of you to say "who cares what happens"...so you're utterly indifferent to the needless and wasteful deaths of young American and British troops giving their lives for a misguided war, now? Nice.

I am worn down and tired of caring myself. I protested and warned and protested again. I watched the news from Iraq and shouted from the rooftops it is going to get worse bring them home. We had a chance at change on Tuesday and the warmongering "christians" won. Let them have their war and suck it up because there will be MANY more dead once the Fallujah/Ramadi/Mosul offensives begin.

18. The people have spoken!
I am deeply troubled by the unspeakable crime that has been committed by the people of the USA against the people of Iraq. However, I realize it does no good to punch at a brick wall. So, if this what the people want, let them have the whole motherfucker.

29. Convince the Labour MP's
That sometimes in order to fix something you have to tear it down and start over.

It would seem that the Labour party does not want to relinquish it's hold on power, they talk about Blair being wrong, but when it comes to a no confidence vote the majority back him up. Sort of like the Repukes do here with Bush.

We tried, and we failed. Because 58,000,000 "Americans" don't believe in Democracy, they are not loyal to the country. They believe in the "morals and values" of Rudy Guiliani, Newt Gingrich, and Henry Hyde. And they don't have the courage to publicly announce that they are nothing more then racist, homophobic, warmongering, cowardly, religious fanatics, who are no different then the Taliban or Al Queda.

The Spanish people did it, the Aussies like us also failed, not sure if the Italians will succeed, now it's your turn. Show us how you do it.

31. But Bush hasn't had a chance to hug his father yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God, please don't depress him today and tell him that. He needs his honeymoon by Lord and he should not be bothered with these details of the war. What? Do you expect him to micromanage the ground battles? He is a leader with long term vision for changing the world into one big happy family.

RIP to the Englanders.

Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 05:05 PM by donkeyotay
at least here in the US. Eight died the Saturday before the election, and it wasn't even on the news. The total is now 1124 US soldiers (not counting contractors and mercenaries) and 73 UK.
