Arnold will NOT get questions in advance....
Edited on Wed Sep-03-03 05:28 PM by onehandle
Just On CNN.

Arnold and the other candidates will NOT get the questions in advance for the ONLY debate he will participate in (Arnold was demanding this). Ha ha...Arnold is screwed.

P.S. If you don't already know, Someone hit him with an egg as he worked a crowd.

8. The Debate of Low Expectations
Arnold is pulling the classic Bush move here....

Believe that Arnold is not capable of debating...
that he's too stupid...that his accent prevents
him from putting long sentences together (although
he's been in this country for 30 years and more)

So, Arnold gets a pass of low expectations
and then when he finally debates, he gets rave reviews
for offering a few good ideas that in reality
can't be legislated. He gets rave reviews for showing up...

10. Yes, he will, according to this CNN story
http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/09/03/arnold.recall/index.html

Earlier, aides to Schwarzenegger announced they were seeking a change in the format of the September 24 debate -- the one debate that Schwarzenegger has said he will participate in. The aides proposed that the questions for that forum not be released in advance, but sponsors of the debate said the format was not open to negotiation.

11. Maybe Arnold will borrow Dubya's earpiece?
That way he can be fed answers just like Chimpy the masterdebater.

...and if that doesn't work he can borrow Dubya's codpiece.

14. imho it is completely reasonable to have the q's known in advance
in the real world, being governor isn't about giving impromptu answers to surprise questions. the real job of being governor requires deep policy analysis and long thought and preparation. i see nothing wrong with giving all the candidates the opportunity to prepare their positions and statements. there should also be the opportunity for some unscripted followup questions, too, though.

21. Sure, sure.....that's why
we give applicants who take state bar exams the questions beforehand, or give medical students the questions before they take their MCATs....wait a minute, no we don't. We test them to ensure that they are prepared and capable to deal with difficult issues.

Are you fucking kidding me? The very point of this debate exercise is to test how the candidates think on their feet and how they handle difficult situations. If Arnold gets a tough question, well...tough shit. Answer it and show the public how you deal in a crisis situation.

Your reasoning helped elect Reagan and the current dolt occupying the WH.
