1. This is the right wing 'rag' (just a website really) run by a Moonie
who used to work for the Washington Times. Take any story from it with a pinch of salt. See http://newyorker.com/talk/content/?030908ta_talk_mcgrath

They're fighting to keep that woman in Florida alive.

2. I am so repulsed by all the people I have heard today...
saying how glad they are that Arafat is dying.

That just bothers me. He is just a person.

I do not think Arafat himself has done that much worse than what Sharon has done.

Both men however are fighting for what they see as their right to exist in land that they see as their own.

Too murky an issue to pray for the death of a fellow human being for.

11. Arafat is a thug
He is a murderer and and thug. He has killed many innocent people and its time to meet his maker. May he burn in hell.

3. The misery of another is not good news, mate
Castro has provided his people with better medical care than is on
offer inside the USA. He has fewer people in prison per capita
as well. Compared to haiti and some near-neibors, he's done ok
for 'is folk, considering what kind of horror the US has achieved
in the central american states we've sponsored terrorism in.

Mr. Arafat, like most leaders, has gone past his use-by date, and
sadly, he is dying in office, rather than retirement in the independent
country of palestine.

I wish his wife and family deepest regards.

4. Uh.. the not keeping people in prison thing.. nothing to compliment...
There's people who ought to be in prison who aren't there mainly because Arafat would look unpatriotic for keeping them in a place Israel likes to shoot missiles at.

9. no hablo nihonjin
Israel has been complicit in its creation of the problem, as we
are all well aware. Israeli soldiers that kill children and
european peace activists might belong in prison as well, by your logic.

I'm not sure where you're going with this, but i've respect for Yasser. He has fought for his people, and put more on the line than
your or I have... we merely vote and then bitch when they don't
count 'em.

His life is over now, and whether it was right or wrong is not ours
to judge. I hope his people find justice... and i hope as well that
ALL war criminals are brought to justice.

8. It is one thing to disagree
politically, spiritually, viscerally, whatever with some one.

It is entirely different to wish for their death.

Where is this coming from?

I was thinking of a few leaders much closer to home.

And Sharon.

But that would solve nothing, plenty of haters to replace them.

In fact it would be cool to wake up in the morning and find that there was a sort of rapture where only progressives were left.
