I'm sure our Marines have all the easter eggs and cheat codes.
If too many Marines die we toss in the daisy cutters.
If that doesn't work there's always Uma Thurman and a special made sword.
I'm numb at this point.
What do you do after you've taken the red pill?
What do you do when your democracy is going to hell with you're fellow countrymen cheering?
When I was in school and read about Nazi Germany I remember thinking how horrible Hitler was, but how stupid the Germans had to be to let something like that happen.
Through the years America's sentiment to the people of a bad government seems to have been that if the people don't rise up to take out that bad government, then you can't really feel too bad for the collateral damage that occurs when America has to rid the world of the vermin for them.
If Bush is the vermin, then I wonder if the rest of the world will feel to sorry for us if someone, anyone, manages to hurt us? To do damage to us?
It may seem novel, but in the little scene in the Disney movie "It's a Bug's Life" ... when the head grasshopper first throws a seed at another grasshopper and asks him if it hurt; then throws another seed at another grasshopper and asks him if that hurt ... both answered "no." Then the head grasshopper let lose of a whole bottle of seeds and killed the two unsuspecting grasshoppers making a point that one might not hurt, and another may not hurt, but a whole lot would kill them.
In short, the U.S. has just over 280k people. The rest of the world? ... well you do the math.
Nukes, daisy cutters, etc. It won't help if the rest of the world gets it in their minds that we're the vermin.
More than 10 countries have joined the EU since Bush took office in '01. There is talk of the EU becoming the United States of Europe and electing a president. The Euro is now the currency used to measure the value of oil instead of the U.S. dollar.
United States of Europe, the Euro, the unity. Add it up. They don't want to sit idle while this crap goes down.
For those poor souls that continue to live in the Matrix, choose to wear the flag over their heads, instead of waving it, for those that are provided with information that should be investigated, not swept under the carpet ... we need to find a way to wake them up.
What seemed like darkness is only proving to be dusk. The darkest days are to come and it seems that most of us are willing to just watch the sun set.
It's interesting that the one city that truly tasted the reality of death, the reality of complete interuption in their lives ... those are the people that controlled their fear. Those were the people that came to their senses; the people that have their anger in check to see through the fog of deception. NYC cast aside the lies, they are the model and the glimmer of hope that what is good about America still exists. They see the real Bush and they controlled themselves to peacefully demonstrate and wait till Nov. 2. How much longer can they wait now?
Marines being told that the battle they're getting ready to wage is like the video games they've "trained" on.
Hmmm. Some people want to live in the Matrix, it's sad that some of them are in control of our troops that think they're fighting for our freedom, when in fact they are the stick that is stirring up the hive of an enemy that did not harm us. An enemy that we know very little about.
Grab another beer out of the frig. Check out ESPN and see who's ahead in the Heisman race. I wonder if anyone else ate those Spaghetti O's? Click, click, <in Iraq today Marine Cpl. Brian Oliveira, 22, of Raynham, Mass., died from injuries received from enemy action in Al Anbar Province. Oliveira was assigned to 3rd Battalion, Camp Pendleton, Calif.> Click, click <I'm Jim Rome, and welcome to Rome is Burning>
Who says The Matrix was fiction? Reality rewritten to ensure a box office hit.
Let me share this ... when I heard that Kerry was going to concede I can only compare the feeling to that of when I first saw the Planet of the Apes and the camera panned back from NRA madman Heston to reveal the Statue of Liberty. A symbol buried in sand and only a piece of metal that reflected the greatness of a country that no longer existed. When I saw that scene a chill went down my spine because that symbol means so much. Hearing that Kerry was going to concede had the same reaction. It seems like Democracy is dead, but like losing a loved one we don't want to admit it. The question is if we will have the guts, like our fore fathers, to fight for what we believe in?
