Boston worker confidence drops in October
Boston Business Journal
Boston workers' confidence in the job market dropped in October for the second consecutive month, as personal finance worries and pessimism about job security grew, according to a national survey on employment sentiment.

The Hudson Employment Index for Boston dropped 2.2 points to 106.9 in October. Hudson Highland Group Inc. (Nasdaq: HHGP), a professional-staffing company that compiles the monthly index, also found that Boston workers were less assured than their national counterparts. While the Boston index fell, the national one climbed 1.6 points to 108.5, after falling 2 points in September.

In Boston, there was a 2-point increase in the percentage of employees who thought their finances would get worse. There was a 1-point increase in employees who believe their jobs were not secure.

Workers also thought opportunities for advancement decreased from September to October, as that part of the index increased 4 points.

2. And with good reason...
companies lay people off thereby improving the bottom line, shareholders are happy, so now you outsource, thereby improving the bottom line. Workers get screwed; welcome to bush's america
