Big Voter Turnout Seen Among Young People
By MARTHA IRVINE, AP National Writer

Under-30 voters came through in big numbers this year, with more than 20 million casting a ballot for president, researchers found. The turnout bested their 2000 showing by more than nine percentage points and heartened activists who worked to get young voters to the polls.

Um, am I mistaken, or didn't the RW news sources say on Wednesday morning that young people did not turn out for the election?

6. Yes, absolutely!!! There was a lot of blame kicked around here
as people took out their frustrations and anger, not just against the youth either. It's too be expected, we are still human. I was very sad to see it happening, but it is understandable. What's important now is to make amends and ban together to fight the junta!

same. but still, we (young voters) did turnout.

Yes, it could have been better, but Kerry had more problems than us (like the fact he lost 60 and up voters).

4. They will plant any story to demoralize the left. That is what they do
after every election or event.

Hell, after 9-11 they even went so low to push their own sponsored polls that had people saying they were glad Bush was president and not Gore or even Clinton.

They PAID for those polls with every intention of politicizing 9-11 for their benefit, even before bodies were being pulled out of the still smoking debris.

They are scum.

5. I wonder how many cast the ballot they thought they were casting
It is hard to believe that they turned out in large numbers to vote for war.

8. The total share by young voters did not increase
that is all. More of every age group showed up. Proportional shares did not change.

9. Shows you how corrupt our media is.....
First they plant the story about how the young voters didn't show up and then, couple days later, the true story comes out but the first story is what will remain in the sheeple's minds. Pure propaganda. And we're led to believe that these young voters went for Bush? I highly doubt it. This election was rigged.

10. That was also AP; I posted it. As many replies pointed out, the logic
in the story was deeply flawed. If there's record turnout and the same percentage of young people turned out as in previous elections, then they also had record turnout. It was pretty obviously a canned story written before the election with some of the numbers filled in. Not one of the AP's finer moments, but that can be said for all of election night.

11. Yes, it's a big perception game. The RW owns the messenger.
Of course they are very concerned about the power of the new young voting block and what convince them they have no power at all. The message the RW is sending: "You are 'small' and ineffective."
