Soong prophecies Taiwan-China war next year
By Caroline Hong and Jewel Huang
STAFF REPORTERS
Monday, Nov 08, 2004,Page 1

A catastrophic cross-strait war will occur next year should the pan-green camp be granted a majority in the legislative elections, People First Party (PFP) Chairman James Soong (§º·¡·ì) said yesterday, sparking a derisive response from Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) party heavyweights.

While stumping for the pan-blue camp's legislative candidates throughout the country this weekend, Soong urged the public to vote for PFP and Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) candidates to prevent Taiwan from moving closer to conflict because of the policies of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and the Chen Shui-bian (³¯¤ô«ó) administration. Taking his prediction a step further, Soong said that previous "60-year disaster cycles" show that a disaster for Taiwan is imminent.

2. The card game has changed.
China no longer needs the USA to like her. We are totally dependent on her, due to the trade deficit. Now China can just silence that pesky taiwan. What are we going to do about it? Not let them buy any t-bonds?

3. The only thing China needs is a market.
As soon as they crack the Euro market, and they're trying, they'll dump us and our currency as quickly as possible.

Then they'll go after Taiwan. They have Russian Sunburn missles that will make quick work of our Navy. That is if we even care about Taiwan by then.

After all, if we attack China, we may face a major toothbrush, scissors and garden hose shortage.

4. It's been my contention since Bush first took office that
the Chinese had decided it was time to push the Taiwan issue...

When our spy plane went down, Bush had to cow tow to Bejing..

Wasn't that a great way to start an administration....

Now Powell has basically said he Taiwan is not on the front burner....

So, we are bogged down in Iraq, can anyone say the Chinese knew this would happen and didn't offer much resistance to the invasion in the first place. The Chinese get the true measure of our willingness to wage wwar, the true strength of our armed forces and decideds, yes they can take Taiwan now...

The only good thing will be the massive amounts of military hardware that both sides will expend eliminating a threat from China against Japan at least for the foreseable future...

5. Not only that, but the Chinese have inked a major oil/nat gas
deal with the Iranians. If * invades Iran, he'll have more problems with the Chinese.

6. Iran is the real trigger point

Iran is what makes war elsewhere with China more likely. Our regime is dogging Chinese interests in Sudan as well.
