Rumsfeld in Gulf, U.S. Troops Under Fire - Yahoo Breaking
<http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=564&ncid=716&e=13&u=/nm/20030904/ts_nm/iraq_dc>

"I haven't been back into Iraq or Afghanistan (news - web sites) I guess since last...April or May and it seemed to me that it was important to have an opportunity to get a first hand sense of how things are going," Rumsfeld said.

The Pentagon (news - web sites) had not announced his trip to Iraq in advance for security reasons.

In a reminder of the daily dangers in Iraq, U.S. troops fought Iraqi guerrillas who fired mortars near their base, then raided homes to detain suspected bomb-makers in a night of drama around Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s hometown of Tikrit. Iraqis then fired rocket-propelled grenades at a patrol.

they should drop rummy onto the front lines. The SOB!!!!

6. Rummy- "Maybe another division"
US Secretary of State Donald Rumsfeld revealed that "maybe another division" would be needed in Iraq (news - web sites), where the United States has 140,000 troops on the ground(AFP/File/Paul. J Richards)

From looking through Yahoo news photos - no link

7. Oh, shit...
This is exactly (and I mean EXACTLY) what General Shinseki warned about in his farewell address: "Beware of the 12-division strategy for a 10-division army."

"Maybe another division," indeed--WHICH ONE, ARSEHOLE? YOU'VE RUN OUT OF DIVISIONS!!!

I rather imagine that Shinseki's cursing a blue streak right now. He committed the cardinal sin of being right.

:mad:

19. A Modest Proposal (Redux)
Perhaps we could save ourselves a lot of trouble by simply grinding up Iraqi children to make them into biofuel?
