35 US soldiers captured in Fallujah
FALLUJAH, Iraq, Nov. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Mosques in Iraq's restive city of Fallujah announced on Monday that the fighters inside the city have captured 35 US soldiers.

Loud speakers of the mosques blared out the news as US forces were trying to penetrate the rebel-held city, but the news could not be independently confirmed.

US troops and Iraqi special forces stormed into the western districts of Fallujah early Monday and seized the main city hospital and two key bridges over the Euphrates River.

US officials said there may be more fierce fighting to come if US forces try to enter downtown Fallujah on the east bank of the river.

4. You're Actually Surprised?
You thought just because Shrub managed to STEAL his way to 4 more years, that we would suddenly develop a coherent and successful strategy in Iraq?

Before I get flamed for a bit of sarcasm, I do support our troops, and hate to see them killed. But this should do wonders for the middle eastern sales of beheading videos. They're going to be busy for some time with 35 new victims.

4 More Years! 4 More Years! 4 More Years!

3. I gotta say I find that hard to believe...
that's roughly an entire platoon of people, I really doubt that happened collectively.

Now if they are saying 35 total scattered throughout the city? maybe I guess, but we shall see, it just seems like something to take with a grain of salt.

6. Let's Not Forget
Many over there have said that this will be the roughest fighting since the Vietnam War.

Gee, it's a good thing that Shrub declared combat operations over last year. But this doesn't really sound like combat operations. Just going for a nice little drive through a war zone. No biggie.

12. one of the few times i hope the news is lying
i know people before have posted things online from sources that aren't well known and the stories have turned out to not be true. so hopefully this is one of them. also i would think such a thing would be reported somewhere else.

10. That was my first thought.
But, I checked out their homepage and the rest looks legit. A bit biased, but legit. It is a sad day when I trust the media in the US less than random Internet sites. :-(

13. Yes it's a credible source
Same as BBC or the Guardian, they are a mainstream news source, and they say very clearly it's what the IRAQIS are saying and hasn't been independantly confirmed.

9. Most likely propaganda
"Loud speakers of the mosques blared out the news as US forces were trying to penetrate the rebel-held city, but the news could not be independently confirmed."

This sounds like propaganda. Not saying it couldn't happen, or there won't be massive casualties etc, but this doesn't sound like its an objectively determined fact.
