(U.S. Appointed Iraqi PM) Allawi approves U.S. - led offensive on Falluja
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L07689597.htm

NEAR FALLUJA, Nov 8 (Reuters) - U.S. planes and artillery pounded Falluja on Monday and Iraq's interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi said he had authorised a U.S.-led offensive to rid the Sunni Muslim city of insurgents.

"I gave my authority to the multinational forces, Iraqi forces. We are determined to clean Falluja from the terrorists," Allawi told a news conference in Baghdad.

This reporter witnessed about eight air strikes on the city within 20 minutes. Plumes of smoke rose as explosions from the artillery fire boomed out every minute or so.

U.S.-led troops backed by tanks and aircraft also battled guerrillas around the city west of Baghdad, moving to forward positions ahead of the expected full-scale assault.

9. Been in a bar pool since July….
The irony of the thing is, this bar, in a high-end beach community, attracts mostly republican old money and shortly after the turnover, they were slapping down 10s on what day of the month Allawi would be taken out….the pot keeps rolling over until that day comes.

I have no idea what day I have….I just threw out 10 and told the barkeep to pick a day for me.

8. You got that right
He is making millions on construction bribes and kick-backs. His ultimate bug out villa in Monaco is safe. His yacht is in the harbor.

He has a little dacha in Qatar where he meets his mistress.

Sounds OK to me if I were Halliburton, he is our complete Puppet and Lackey. And very dependable at toeing the line.

LOL

5. I shudder to imagine the amount of blood spilled for control of oil,...
,...and of the middle east by arrogant/ambitious neoconservatives. It's,...distressing and terribly sad.
