Soldiers kill again in Iraq (The Copenhagen Post)
The Copenhagen Post

Police opened fire on Iraqi civilians once again, this time at the request of local police in the southern region of the wartorn country

Soldiers stationed in southern Iraq shot and killed an armed Iraqi civilian last Friday evening. Around the time of the shooting, an armoured rocket was fired against one of the Danish forces' command buildings in Al Qurna, according to the Army Operational Command (HOK). There were no indications that the two episodes were related in any way.

The shooting took place between 20.00 and 22.00 last Friday evening in Talha, six kilometres southwest of Al Qurna. Local police had requested assistance from the soldiers, after a group of armed Iraqi men opened fire on a local residence. When the soldiers arrived on the scene, the Danish patrol fired a warning shot, at which point the men fled.

The soldiers followed on foot, and after turning a corner, spotted the two armed men. One of the men held a rifle in shooting position, and the other reached for his gun. The Danes then shot and killed one of the Iraqis. The other man absconded, leaving his rifle at the scene. ---

2. Ummm....
The guy who got shot was apparently shooting at a house. The soldiers fired a warning shot, the shooters fled, the soldiers followed, and shot one guy pointing a rifle at them. Doesn't that qualify as a justifiable shooting? It would in DC or Chicago...
