Rumsfeld Says Security Improving in Iraq
Rumsfeld told reporters in Baghdad after talks with U.S. civilian and military chiefs that the security situation had improved since major combat was declared over on May 1. "There's been some measurable progress," he said.

He also said the U.S. military commander, Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez had not asked for more U.S. troops. "If he wanted more troops, he would have them," Rumsfeld said....

1. I thought if Abizaid asked for more troops, "he'll get them"
And didn't Abizaid say that yesterday or today? As part of the UN appeal?

3. Right, Rummy, it's getting better.
I guess in the corporate boardroom, everybody would just nod their heads up and down. Does Rummy even comprehend the audacity of his lies?

Abizaid is a yes man. Rummy had all the disloyal generals retire. So Abizaid will say what he is told to say. Such abysmal leadership for our great troops. Sad days for the military and the nation.

6. He means,
now that the U.S. has started a civil war in Iraq, our troops have had to circle the wagons and beef up their ramparts in order not to get breached by angry mobs.

That's why none of our troops have been dying in the last few days. They're in "low profile" mode.

That's why the Chimpster went to the U.N. Our military is surrounded.
