Insurgents Fire on Poland Embassy in Iraq

WARSAW, Poland - More than a dozen insurgents attacked the Polish Embassy in Baghdad with automatic weapons Sunday, and embassy guards returned fire in an exchange that lasted for a half hour, a Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman said. No one was reported killed or wounded.



Aleksander Checko said "a group of about 15 attackers" opened fire on the embassy at about 8 p.m.


"The gunfire went on about 30 minutes. Our guards returned fire and the attackers disappeared," Checko said.


U.S. troops went to the embassy, but the attackers had fled, Checko said.

and the spokesperson called them "attakers" not insurgents. Could have been common criminals...Who knows. :shrug:
