US planes bomb Falluja (new bombing series)

US planes bomb Falluja
Michael Georgy and Omar Anwar, Reuters

US warplanes bombarded hard core rebel areas of Falluja yesterday as troops hunted insurgents house-to-house in the city already devastated by the ferocity of the military's seven-day onslaught.

The US military says it has taken control of Falluja, but scattered resistance remained, particularly in southern parts of the city.

Violence that has surged across Iraq's Sunni Muslim region since the US offensive was launched hit Mosul in the north for a fifth day, while there was heavy fighting in Baquba near Baghdad, where US jets dropped 500-pound bombs. Rebels also set fire to oil wells and a pumping station across the north.

The US Marine general who commanded the fight to take Falluja said those who remained were the rebel hard core who would be killed. There was no aid crisis in the city, he said.

1. Is this another...................
"Mission Accomplished" that isn't accomplished? Last week Allawi said that, I guess he has as much credibility as Shrub.

2. Seems to me there'll be precious little left of the city ...
... after they are through with it.

I seem to remember that an attack on cities by hostile forces had quite an effect on the American people a couple of years back. Doubt whether the Iraqis are going to feel much better about what Bush, Blair and their stooge have done to theirs.

Never mind, Condi will doubtless sort it all out for us ...

secure?

US commander says Fallujah is 100 per cent secure

Last Update: Tuesday, November 16, 2004. 12:23pm (AEDT)

United States troops have secured control over the whole of rebellious Fallujah with more than 1,000 insurgents taken prisoner.

Colonel Michael Regner, operations officer for the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Fallujah, says "somewhere over 1,000" insurgents have been killed in the offensive that began on November 8.

"A 100 per cent of the city is secure," he said, but added that Marines were still involved in fighting in portions of the city and were sweeping house to house.

He says 38 US troops had been killed and 320 wounded in the operation.

Six Iraqi government troops also have been killed and 28 wounded.

He added that no more than about 24 of the prisoners were from outside Iraq and a senior U.S. defence official says "a large fraction" of the Fallujah prisoners would very likely be released quickly.

Another day, another lie in a string of lies that will foisted off of the public.

4. I did not hear about the bombing of Baquba on Monday... Here's an article:
US bombs kill 20 in Baquba

Monday November 15, 2004 14:42 - (SA)

BAQUBA - US forces have unleashed two air strikes and ground fire on the restive city of Baquba following clashes between rebels and Iraqi security forces, in a day of chaos that left about 20 insurgents dead, a US military official said.

Four US soldiers were also slightly wounded in the unrest, which marked the latest in a wave of violence that has swept through the Sunni Muslim heartlands of Iraq in response to a huge US-Iraqi assault on the rebel hub of Fallujah.
(snip)

The day's mayhem started when a bus-load of rebels drove into Baquba, 60 kilometres northeast of Baghdad, at about 8:00 am (0500 GMT).

Iraqi national guards and gangs of militants clashed in three separate skirmishes, while other rebels were spotted planting roadside bombs and US-led military forces in the area were attacked from a mosque, Johnson said.

5. Lies for American consumption -- people in Iraq know what is
happening. Someone will know someone who have seen what the American troops are doing. A few photos and videos are leaking out.

The Iraqis know that boys and men were not allowed to leave -- and they will hear the lies of the Americans and know that many innocent people have been slaughtered by the Americans.

The path to this invasion was built on lies and the military continues to lie about their part in war crimes.

The photo below is one of the most disturbing to me. Probably one that Americans aren't supposed to see and one that shows the PR person for the military is a liar. But then I personally know that the military always lies -- whatever the military says -- expect that the opposite COULD be true -- or if they do tell the truth -- whatever they said before and after the "truth" was probably a lie. Then they will back track and lie about the truth that got mixed in with their lies.

16. While I'm certain war crimes have taken place, this is a PHOTOSHOP job
a poor quality one at that -- the blurred pixels are visible around each of the bloodless children lying on the pavement and that's without enlarging the photo.

For some REAL photo's of America's handy work:

8. That's what we get when we have become a nation waiting on the pleasure
of a colossal spoiled brat, who was NEVER disciplined, obviously, in his entire life.

Instant gratification of EVERYTHING he and his nasty friends wants, NOW. NOW. No matter what the price, and who else has to pay it.

Hateful man is bringing out the worst in our country. The buffoons, half-wits and thugs are coming out of the woodwork and trying to take over.

What pity for everyone else.

12. It does seem to get to half us Americans and the rest of the world.
I can not figure out why the people saying they go to church each week seem to like it so well.It is the type that give our religion a bad name.Same with the killing group in the Middle East in that religion. Really hard to take.
