Falluja residents not in need of aid, (U.S. appointed) Iraq govt says
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/NUE622341.htm

BAGHDAD, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Iraq's government rejected reports that families in Falluja were in need of food, water and medical supplies and said on Tuesday that most civilians had fled before the U.S.-led attack.

"The Iraqi government strongly rejects suggestions from some sources that there are shortages of supplies in Falluja," a statement from Prime Minister Iyad Allawi's office said.

It said a Health Ministry team had visited the city and Falluja hospital, seized by U.S. and Iraqi forces just before the assault began eight days ago, and found no shortages.

"They have confirmed that they found no citizens in need of food or water," it said. "It is now clear there are very few citizens in Falluja. Most have already fled from the terrorists who controlled the city before Operation Fajr (Dawn)."

2. This is one of the most patently crazy statements I've ever read from
a public official anywhere on this planet.

Bombed the hospitals, destroyed the mosques, blew up homes, destroyed the streets, blew the shit out of the place, and they don't need any humanitarian help.

Allawi is a dead man walking in my opinion. I saw the pictures of the dead children lying in the street. The Iraqi people are not ever going to forgive or forget this act of aggression called down upon their heads by their (US appointed) leader.

What a mess.

14. See? They have no need of anything!
They're resting comfortably on the street, under the watchful gaze of their American protectors! No one is going without the necessities of life, and it is a terrorist lie that children are being gunned down or the wounded maltreated in any way.

This wholly gratuitous message brought to you by Baghdad Bush

19. Someone claimed this was a photoshop
I don't know for sure, but it seems possible. It just looks "too good" (from a propaganda point of view). It would be unfortunate if the photo was used to oppose the assault, and was later shown to be a fake. It could even be a Rovian setup.

I have no doubt, though that Fallujah is full of indisputable scenes of civilian carnage.

20. Of Course They Do.
Nothing is real anymore. It's either faked, open to interpretation or taken out of context.

6. Dogs and cats eating bloated bodies on the streets!
That was reported on one of the threads here at DU - along with reports of many dead civilians, including children. Just as in Florida during the recent hurricanes, many people who would like to have evacuated had no viable way to get the hell out of Dodge! And that was in a country with functioning public transportation systems and open, well paved highways. The poor, the elderly, the infirm, and ANYONE without motorized transport were not likely able to leave Fallujah. We read the account here of a family of five trying to swim across the river and being shot dead by a US helicopter. I condemn any news operation which repeats this unsubstantiated government account unless said news organization has reporters on the scene to corroborate.

11. dead people don't need aid, silly Red Cross
What huge mistake this is. Turning a whole town to rubble, a la Israel. That kind of tactic has really worked for them, huh?

We'll see the same results in Iraq. We've only created more terrorists with this action, and not just in Iraq.

12. Francis A. Boyle, Professor of Law, University of Illinois
In international legal terms, the Bush Jr. administration
itself should now be viewed as constituting an ongoing
criminal conspiracy under international criminal law in
violation of the Nuremberg Charter, the Nuremberg
Judgment, and the Nuremberg Principles, due to its
formulation and undertaking of aggressive war policies that
are legally akin to those perpetrated by the Nazi regime. As
a consequence, American citizens possess the basic
right under international law and the United States domestic
law, including the U.S. Constitution, to engage in acts
of non-violent civil resistance in order to prevent, impede,
thwart, or terminate ongoing criminal activities perpetrated
by U.S. government officials in their conduct of foreign
affairs policies and military operations purported to relate
to defense and counter-terrorism.

We are now learning German history, pre 1937:

"To keep a mentally ill person costs approximately 4 marks
a day. There are 300,000 mentally ill people in care. How
much do these people cost to keep in total? How many
marriage loans of 1000 marks could be granted with
this money?"

18. It's truly frightening,...
,...the direction we are headed,...isn't it.

Now that Bush is purging anyone who fails to fall firmly within his neocon box,...it indicates that PNAC will go fully forward. We're talking a willingness and ability to ignite a world war,...with the rest of the world being against US!!!

16. If we kill them, what aid would they need?
Obviously if there are no civilians left alive in Fallujah, there is no need to spend any money in humanitarian aid or in reconstruction. The Romans used to do the same thing to cities that rebelled against the Empire.

PAX AMERICANA!
