33. Not a good sign at all...
Edited on Tue Nov-16-04 09:57 AM by rainbow4321
This will do wonders in helping Arabs and us all get along...NOT:

http://middleeastinfo.org/article701.html

As disturbing as Feith’s views may be, his political associations cause even greater concern. In recent years, Feith has frequently been featured in the activities of the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA). Known for its virulent anti-Arab incitement, the ZOA regularly attacks all Arab American political activity and demonizes politicians who hire Arab Americans or even associate with community organizations. The ZOA also frequently attacks American Jews whom they feel are not in line with their extremist pro-Likud philosophy.

In just the past few years, Feith was the Guest of Honor at ZOA’s 100th Anniversary Gala Banquet. He served as Master of Ceremony at two other major ZOA functions and has been a frequent participant at ZOA sponsored policy briefings on Capitol Hill supporting that organization’s anti-Palestinian legislative initiatives.

Feith’s law practice in Washington sheds further light on the one-sided nature of his work. His small law firm has one international affiliate, in Israel. Over two-thirds of all their reported casework involves representing Israeli interests. And, in light of Feith’s new appointment, one of these cases deserves some attention. As described on the firm’s website, Feith "represented a leading Israeli armaments manufacturer in establishing joint ventures with leading U.S. aerospace manufacturers for manufacture and sale of missile systems, to the U.S. Department of Defense and worldwide."

36. Feith is the Main Culprit Behind Stovepiping Bad Intelligence
He is the one who was running the Pentagon's Office of Special Plans and brought Ahmed Chalabi back into the US intelligence community and used the INC's lackeys and dubious intelligence that no one else believed in order to justify an invasion of Iraq to save Israel.

Why can't these PNAC fucks die a horrible death?

20. I guess Feith won't be NSA, then.
I felt sure Feith would get a huge plum for his enforcer role in the Cheney/Rumsfeld/neocon consolidation of power (purge of the impure). There is nothing to stop ever-more-extreme fascism, an 'ideology' that knows no 'extremes.' Their appetite for power and wealth is insatiable.

Take my word for it.

Douglas Feith is already a known entity, a proven peddler of lies -- and a proto-fascist who won't last more than six months if Bush is idiot enough to name him and the Senate OKs him, which I believe they will not(!).

60. Remember how Nixon replaced his entire cabinet?
Well, a couple were indicted, if I recall, but he bounced the rest of them. Same situation, desperate attempts to fix something that is systemic. They know they're on a glide path to a crash, and don't know what to do about it. For the last year, all they thought about was winning, not about what they'd do if they won.

54. Under ordinary circumstances that would apply. But THIS -
this is just bizarro-world, through-the-looking-glass stuff. None of that seems to apply to this jackass.

ALL bets are off with this jerk. The cheney curse didn't hold. The below-50-percent-job-approval didn't hold. The Redskins loss didn't hold. Crime isn't supposed to pay. Cheaters are never supposed to prosper. The black hats aren't supposed to win. Reason and logic don't apply. NOTHING holds.

Do you suppose bush made a deal with the Devil? How is he getting away with so much, and triumphing so much, and how does he come by so much support - when he's a complete, shameless, unapologetic fuck-up? And about half this country fervently believes he's the next best thing to God?

And I thought Reagan was bad.

55. Short answer: We have virtually no checks and balances left.
I think it can and probably will get much worse before it gets better. Nobody knows how long it will take to turn it around.

As always the solution is simple: Awaken the ignorant. Actually pulling that off is another matter entirely. The fourth estate was an effective hedge against an uninformed voting public - - we have effectively lost that. The internet remains as one last hope, but it is under systematic assault at this very moment.

Here's a favorite quote you may have already seen: "Let the people know the truth and the country is safe" - Abraham Lincoln

Remember? He said he had his kids to put through College and he just wasn't making enough $$ in this job.

I think, no matter who got this job, it was destined to failure. It's never a great idea to combine all those individual departments into one and expect one person to be able to manage it.

I son't care who they replace him with, it's a nonstarter. That job cannot be done! Shrub has to realize that you can have co-operation between departments if you demand it, but you can't put them all together!

46. I'm SO confused right now...
I can't keep up with who is resigning, who isn't... and why all of a sudden? I don't want to sound alarmist, but do you think the reason they are leaving is because something is going to happen and they don't want to be the blame? For example, how * blamed the CIA for 9/11 so people are running like roaches when the lights are turned on? It did totally take my mind off of Fallujah for a moment...just so I can clear the smoke from my ears.
I studied journalism for a few back in high school, and I do remember something called fact checking, not just announcing cause they heard it somewhere... Beginning to be more like a gossip show than "news".

56. Quote about Ridge's resignation found inside an article on Rice
"On Tuesday, two senior administration officials told CNN that Homeland Security Department Secretary Tom Ridge will also leave his Cabinet post, but the White House would not confirm the report.

Brian Roehrkasse, a spokesman for the department, said the report was "news to us."

Roehrkasse said Ridge has not made any decisions about his future and at this time there have not been any discussions with the White House."
