Iraq Shooting Captured by Freelancer
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20041116/ap_en_tv/marine_shooting_sites_2

NEW YORK - Video of a U.S. Marine shooting a wounded man in Fallujah was captured by an Internet Age journalist who often reports and photographs war stories, then posts his impressions on his own weblog.

Kevin Sites, a freelancer who works part time for NBC News, was being kept under wraps by the network Tuesday as the investigation into the shooting continued.

The youthful, long-haired Sites has worked for NBC, CNN and ABC News and has covered war zones in Afghanistan (news - web sites) and Colombia. He had extensive experience in Iraq (news - web sites), where he was embedded with a Marines unit during the operation in Fallujah. snip

His site, http://www.kevinsites.net contains his diary of the action in Fallujah. It describes traveling with the Marines and encountering bodies of dead Iraqis along the way: "This one is dressed in clean white sneakers and athletic pants. He is on his back — his arms behind his head, his face seems nearly peaceful, content."

2. Just saw it on PBS--different war, same old shit. This is the kind of
thing that the Swift Boat Liars claimed "never happened" in Vietnam and Kerry was lying about . . .

I am listening to these talking heads on The PBS "NewsHour" spin and equivocate this heinous crime. "Well, you see, our guys are under a lot of stress."

Bullshit. They're marines. What, they're not tough enough to not shoot incapacitated mujahedeen?

The soldier shot the guy because he could, pure and simple. Remember, they hate us because we're good . . .

6. I once saw a young man pushing and swearing at these Iraq
people and he was really mad. In uniform with gun and the next time the pictures of the going on was shown that part was gone. I never saw they man show up on TV another time.I lived in the middle of the service life for years. What gets out is not the same as what is going on. If you get a lot of young men ready to kill and give them a gun with few laws they are all the same. To get it on film is the thing you usually do not see. Be the last time that guy goes with the troops I bet.

4. Lots of people will be calling for this man's blood
I would like to think he would be safe from reprisal, but I doubt it would be wise for him to be in a combat zone around U.S. troops for a long time to come.

5. MSNBC had him reading a pre-written statement today...
...of pure U.S. propaganda over and over today. He looked scared. Can't unring a bell.

8. "The youthful, long-haired Sites.."
is obviously a terrorist sympathizer and should not be taken seriously despite his extensive experience and long-established credbility...

10. And the moral for the military?
Further restrict media access.

It's not that the stories / video / photos don't exist, it's that the outlets won't publish. People have come to believe that this is a tidy affair.
