Nation's students no longer flocking to the US to study - Taiwan
The number of Taiwanese students registered in schools in the US between last year and this year was 6.6 percent lower than the previous year, making Taiwan the sixth largest source of foreign students in the US, the Institute of International Education reported Monday.

The institute's latest statistics showed that Indian students ranked first in terms of numbers, followed by Chinese students.

Among 26,178 Taiwanese registered in US schools, 57.4 percent are studying in graduate schools, while 32.4 percent are studying in undergraduate programs at universities and the remaining 10.2 percent are studying at other institutions.
