Iraqi domestic oil pipeline in Samarra attacked by saboteurs
Iraqi police say insurgent forces have attacked a domestic oil pipeline west of the city of Samarra in the latest strike against Iraq's major industry.

Police spokesman Mohammad Mahmud said the saboteurs used explosives in what was the sixth such attack in as many months."At 8:00am, four kilometres west of Samarra, insurgents detonated explosives on a pipeline that links the Baiji refinery with the refinery in Dora ," he said.

United States troops and Iraqi national guards were seen arriving at the site of the attack where flames were spewing into the air.

In an audio tape posted on an Internet site on Monday, a man claiming to be Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Iraq's most wanted man, exhorted insurgents around the country to rise up against US-led forces, brace for new battles and attack oil pipelines.

The Good Guys. After all, they based their votes on him being a "moral man" and moral men don't slaughter innocent people, so those dead Iraqi kids must be part of the insurgency and there "bad kids", right?

Oh, and yes:

Been awhile since I read 1984, but I seem to recall it did not end with a big payback for all that evil. The evil just kept goin' on and on and on...like I heard once, a dictatorship is fine as long as you agree with the dictator. And of course Bush wants to be the dictator. He said so! And 50 some-odd million people agree with that, I guess. And the time could soon be here when we disagree at the peril of our existence.

3. and Monday's headline: Saboteurs bomb oil pipeline, northern wells ablaze

KIRKUK (AFP) - Saboteurs blew up a section of an oil pipeline in the northern region of Kirkuk, while flames raged in four oil wells after a string of bombings the previous day, officials said.


The secondary pipeline carrying oil to refineries in the city of Baiji was bombed at around 3:00 am (0000 GMT) about 60 kilometres (37 miles) west of Kirkuk, said police officer Sahim Mohammed.


The attack triggered a huge blaze, but firefighters kept away because rebels had warned of dire consequences if they intervened, he said.


Hitting Iraq (news - web sites) where it hurts the most, attackers detonated four bombs near oil wells in Al-Khabbaza oil field near Kirkuk on Sunday. Flames were still burning fiercely on Monday, said a security officer for oil installations.
