Taliban Says Women as Hostages Is Against Islam
KABUL (Reuters) - Afghanistan's Taliban guerrillas reiterated on Wednesday that they had nothing to do with the kidnapping of three U.N. workers and said they opposed the use of women as hostages for the release of prisoners.

"Our country is under the occupation of America; however, we are against using women as hostages and trying to exchange them for prisoners," said Taliban spokesman Abdul Latif Hakimi.
...
Hakimi said the mainstream Taliban had no connection with the kidnappers. "In the eyes of Islam it is not correct to use women as hostages. We do not support it," he said.

1. That's interesting. Let's play the blame game.
Who done it?

6. I've been asking who done it
from the time Hassan was kidnapped. As of last night it was still "an unidentified group". I've got to ask myself, who would benefit from this?

Maybe a country trying to prove any reason, any reason at all, for an illegal war and occupation?

2. who'd a thunk? Ever the gentlemen, those extremists.
Shoot her or stone her for just being accused of sexual activity, but by God don't hold a woman hostage. THAT might get on the news or something.

3. The Taliban have an ethical interpertation of Islam?
Let's see. We won't use women as hostages but accuse a woman of adultry and we will behead her. What a bunch of guys.

4. oh my, a schism?
Oh no, is the radical left of Islam experiencing a schism? We will now have folks leaving Bin Laden to join the Holy Mosque of Compassionate Terrorists?

5. I'll never forget in the August right before 9/11
there was an article in the NYT about the Taliban banning dogs as unIslamic. Seems you should spend your love and devotion on Allah, not on pups. The Afghanis were very upset. They like their pet dogs.

What a bunch of freaks these Talibangers are.
