($$$) Northrop Grumman awarded $470 million (additional) contract
PASCAGOULA, Miss. - Northrop Grumman Ship Systems has been awarded a $470 million modification to a previously awarded contract.

The award, announced Tuesday, provides more money for the DDG 110 for fiscal year 2005.

The contract also provides for the construction of DDG 51 class Aegis destroyers and associated technical documentation and manuals, supplies and services, including on-board spares, support and test equipment.

The work will be performed in Pascagoula at the Northrop Grumman Ingalls Operation, and is expected to be completed by June 2010. The Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C., is the contracting agency.

2. Bath Iron Works in Maine will probably see none of this
And I don't feel confident that our GOP Senators will have the clout to save our two military bases from the BRAC closures either.
