Mark Steyn - Assclown Extraordinaire
Want to read some really stupid bullshit? I know you do. Check out these nuggets of DUH from Mark Steyn, featured in the Chicago Sun-Times:

He's a worldbeater, all right

Snippage:

The differences were especially stark in the last seven days: In the first half of the week, Senate Dems badgered the incoming secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice -- culminating in the decision of West Virginia porkmeister Robert C. Byrd to delay the incoming thereof. Don't ask me why. Byrd, the former Klu Klux Klan Kleagle, is taking a stand over states' rights, or his rights over State, or some such. Whatever the reason, the sight of an old Klansman blocking a little colored girl from Birmingham from getting into her office contributed to the general retro vibe that hangs around the Democratic Party these days. Even "Eve Of Destruction," one notes, is a 40-year-old hippie dirge.

...

By contrast, the British went in to India without an "exit strategy," stayed for generations and midwifed the world's most populous democracy and a key U.S. ally in the years ahead. Which looks like the smarter approach now? ''Most Indians Say 'Thumbs Up' To Second Bush Term,'' reported the Christian Science Monitor this week, "and no, that doesn't mean something rude in Indian culture.''

Never mind that Britain was an empire and was not intervening, even on pretense, to remove a dictator, but rather to exploit it economically. Oh, and they didn't leave on good terms - there was this pesky little thing called a revolution that finally got them out.

Conventions wisdom is useless against jihadists

I'm not even going to bother quoting this one, it's so ridiculously scatterbrained and illogical.

Ooohhh, one that mentions DU: http://www.suntimes.com/output/steyn/cst-edt-steyn09.html">Election protest shows why Dems don't matter

Snippage

As usual, the media did their best to string along with the Democrats' alternative reality. For the most part, the press now fulfill the same function for the party that kindly nurses do at the madhouse; if the guy thinks he's Napoleon, just smile affably and ask him how Waterloo's going. So Alan Fram of the Associated Press reported with a straight face that Sen. Boxer, Congressman Conyers and the other protesting Democrats ''hoped the showdown would underscore the problems such as missing voting machines and unusually long lines that plagued some Ohio districts, many in minority neighborhoods.''

I'm not sure which media this limpdick was watching...and what does his AP quote have to do with "alternate reality" and the media rooting for Kerry (which it didn't)?

It looks like the British had the good sense to want this brainless jackass in their country. Good for them.
