Sugar Land says negatives in probe of exec's suicide went missing

SUGAR LAND - The widow of former Enron executive Cliff Baxter said Thursday that she remains angry with Sugar Land officials, who have apologized to her for failing to destroy negatives taken during the investigation of her husband's suicide.

"I can't help but still be angry that the City of Sugar Land didn't comply with our initial settlement agreement approved by the court in August of 2002," Baxter's widow, Carol Whalen, said in an e-mail Thursday. "Had they done so, my family and I wouldn't have had to endure this last year of legal gymnastics with the City of Sugar Land. Most importantly, my children and I wouldn't still be haunted by the possibility of these graphic and horrible photographs showing up somewhere completely unexpectedly."

According to the terms of the legal agreement between Sugar Land, the Texas attorney general and Whalen, the city was to release the police report on Baxter's death but would destroy photographs and negatives taken during the probe.

City Attorney Joe Morris said Tuesday that the city was in the process of destroying the items one year ago to satisfy the terms of the agreement when officials discovered the negatives were missing.

DID she get to keep the new yacht her husband allegedly bought the day before he suicided himself????

2. Cry me a river...
Where was the outrage when her husband helped destroy the lives of millions, laughing about how they were cheating little old ladies?

Personally, I hope the photos show up on the internet.

It reminds me of the episode in The Sopranos when the mobster-wives get angry because their church hired a speaker that talked about how the mafia was making regular Italians look bad.

Boo fricking hoo, Enron Widow.
