The Inane Roundup: A Continually Updated Sampling.....
The Inane Roundup: A Continually Updated Sampling of the Media Babbling You'll Be Hearing Until the Conclusion of the Something-Called-an-Election in Iraq

From Scriptoids

<snip>

John Gibson (Fox News): There'll be big doings in Iraq on Saturday. It will be the day of election eve and Iraqis are now scrambling for the supplies they need to get through a three day shut down of the entire country. Then, on Sunday it's game time, the big show, the whole enchilada, the last mile... a walk on the wild side.

<snip>

Bill O'Reilly (Fox News): We are fighting for our lives in Iraq. And most Americans don't even know it. The election on Sunday is vital to our safety. I will say it again. If Syria, Iraq and Iran are allowed to support and protect terrorists, there will be a world war in the future that will dwarf anything this planet has ever seen.

<snip>

Kellyanne Conway (MSNBC):Turnout is going to be robust enough. And welcome to democracy. If the Iraqis can‘t name -- 40 percent of them say they don‘t know what they‘re voting on, look, 54 percent of Americans can‘t name a single Supreme Court justice. And the majority of people don‘t know their two United States senators. So it sounds like the Iraqis are fully on their way to being a democratic and free country.

1. and the WH/Rummy et all have covered themselves by saying many
times that the election is only the beginning (no cakewalk this time) and it will/prob./may get worse after the election. They also have said the election is a success already.

2.  Old Guts and Glory Ollie North has been hoo-yahing.
In a column whose title sounds like an old Warner Brothers war movie, "Of Bombs, Bullets and Ballots," Ollie crowed: "Sunday's election is already a grand success."

Either Ollie can time-travel or he has vastly different criteria than I do.
