Iraq elections, a solution or sedition?
Iraq elections will take place as scheduled not because this is the ideal option to restore the country's security, stability and political process, but because it suits the interests of certain local and international forces.

Those forces believe that holding elections while the country is in chaos will be of less harm to them than holding elections in the future once the security situation has improved, and people feel comfortable and can see things more clearly.

Holding elections in a chaotic Iraq will not be free from gloomy consequences for the political process in the future. The elections, after all, will mark the birth of a new political system - one which will draw a great deal of controversy.

However, Iraq's elections on 30 January will not be the solution for the war-torn country; in fact it is the start of more dangerous problems, internally and regionally.

The OP doesn't sound "way too angry". To anyone that actually is a progressive.

In fact, the OP is just posting from the op/ed. So you should calm down, actually. ;)

6. It's amazing how silly some people are, isn't it
Not a shred of ability to use their own brains, just repeat what they're told to believe and what they're told to say and what they're told to think.

Mental midgets, just like their bush-god. :eyes:

8. Well to start with, they're not "free elections"
There is no such thing a s"free elections" when the election is forced onto a nation being OCCUPIED by a FOREIGN ARMY under martial law for unknown candidates with unknown party platforms.

And if China invaded the USA, occupied us, killed a million or so of us and forced elections on us to vote for unknown candidates for unknown party platforms to pick a group who will write a US Constitutiona nd then pick a group who will next year pick a US President & executive staff, YOU would vote?

LOL!!! Not THIS chickie, I can tell ya that. NO ONE who invades & occupies MY COUNTRY is going to shove fake elections for ANYTHING on me.

And these fake elections have nothing to do with the US getting out of Iraq or with Iraqis electing any kind of a leader.
