In Interview, Bush Belittles Gay Parents
President Bush angered LGBT equal rights by suggesting in a Thursay
interview with the New York Times that "studies" show children
develop better when raised by heterosexual married couples.

Of course he is such a shining example, and he's raised his children
to be just like him. Nothing like living in denial.

1. Didn't Bush speak once some years ago to a gay group about adoption?
Back then he claimed to be supportive of their efforts. IIRC.

2. WHAT studies?
And what do they mean by "develop better"?

Is this like the "studies" that showed abortion leads to cancer? With the main researchers being their imaginary friends?

8. children raised by gay parents
tend to have more tolerance toward gays. poor development by RW standards.

studies would imply scientific method which we know Bush is implicitly opposed to.

I think by studies he meant sermons

or something.

3. F*cking ASSHOLE
there is no evidence that is the case -- he's quoting nonexistent/unreliable research.

god i'm so fucking mad i can't even type...ok breathe..

if anything the research points to the NULL HYPOTHESIS, that gay/straight has no effect on kids.

case 1: kids raised by girl-who-got-pregnant-at-18-and-got-married-to-her-drunken-boyfriend-who-is-now-in-iraq

case 2: kids adopted by gay couple who have had to jump through HOOPS OF FUCKING FIRE to do so, not to mention that this happens at a MUCH later age

5. Any disparity in development...
...could also be a direct result of the knuckle-dragging backward-ass thinking of people like Bush. But there is no disparity. I'm not "less developed" because my mother has been with her partner 25+ years. I'd go so far as to counter that had the situation been different, I would not be a better man today, I'd have missed out on some wonderful influences and opportunities. My mothers partner is the person that exposed me to science-fiction and computers, which are now a joy and my career, respectively. Bush is a shitbag.

10. Wouldn't know off-hand, but was Mussolini raised by --
-- heterosexual parents?

How about Jim Jones? Or Richard Speck?

Unsurprisingly, Bush's claim is absurd on the face of it and manipulative at the root. He's AFFIRMING the far right's anti-gay agenda while in effect, getting off easy by doing nothing more than lip-service in an interview format.

What a worthless piece of shit.

11. Blinded by thier own intolerance
Now that the Right has firmly latched onto thier "moral vaules victory" myth, they're never give up thier homphobic, gay bashing, "Jesus hates fags" crusade even though thier shit has long gotten old and tiring. Whenever I discuss this subject with Neocon associates it's the same thing out of their mouths: "The bible says!" I get so tired of thier one and only line answer, I've given up trying to use logic, which Neocons seem immune from. They refuse to acknowledge that if this was just 50 years ago they would be using thier same biblical justification against inter-racial relationships. They of course deny it saying "it's like the same thing", but they just can't see it through thier own hate, guilt or fear.
