How Bush blew it after 9/11- Miscalculating Sept. 11’s aftermath
On 9/11, Bush was handed a historic opportunity. He blew it

Painful as it is to recall those planes smashing into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon two years ago this week, it’s nearly as heartbreaking to think back on the moment of nascent harmony that ticked in the wake of the attack — until President Bush decided to reject the opportunity that History thrust before him.

REMEMBER? THE French newspaper Le Monde, never one for trans-Atlantic sentimentalism, proclaimed, “We are all Americans.” The band outside Buckingham Palace played “The Star-Spangled Banner” during a changing of the guard, as thousands of Londoners tearfully waved American flags. Most significant, the European leaders of NATO, for the first time in the organization’s history, invoked Article 5 of its charter, calling on its 19 member-nations to treat the attack on America as an attack on them all — a particularly moving gesture, as Article 5 had been intended to guarantee American retaliation against an attack on Europe.
But the Bush administration brushed aside these supportive gestures — and that may loom as the greatest tragedy of Sept. 11, apart from the tolls taken by the attack itself.

I'm sure no one actually believes Junior has a brain. Be honest! It's just whether he picked the right people to make decisions for him.

1. I'm not so sure
he knew exactly how much this military adventure was going to cost. He was just holding out on us.

I do remember reading a while back that congressmen were pressuring the "cabal" to come up with some figures for their latest folly. The only answer they got was shoulder shrugs, a puzzled face, and outstretched palms. "We don't know, gosh (scratches head) mebbe, uh....we'll go to work on it, but you know these things are unknowable. Not knowing, you know. Then, a few weeks later, someone got a very exact figure of expected costs for some project.

They knew how much it was going to cost. Once again, they're lying. The reason they waited this long to tell us was because they were waiting until the 2nd anniversary of 9/11 to tell us, so it would be more palatable.

They were just hoping their little gamble would pay off. Like I've said, these guys are high-stakes riverboat gamblers, pirate buccaneers who lie in wait with their pirate ship outside the harbor.

2. I don't think so. Junior believed this would be over, with a dozens dead,
in a month. Then they could start profiting from stealing the oil and Gov. contracts. (Not just Junior but his handlers believed it would be over)

3. that priceless dipshit look on Dubya's face in that picture
of course, the caption always insinuates this is the FIRST he's hearing of the attacks when he is acually being told of the SECOND PLANE HITTING THE SOUTH TOWER.
