Arch-conservative won't back Bush
Edited on Thu Sep-11-03 11:18 PM by Rowdyboy
I hesitate to post a column by a winger like Reese, especially when he uses part of it to critize Kerry. However, his overall message is that he will not support Bush* for re-election.

2. Charlie dumps on Bush!
Do you think they will try to find someone to run against him?

There are also some good articles in his archives.

3. Cool! Charlie Reese is kinda Cool!
Pretty good for a paleo con libertarian. Read some of the other articles.

Let's get this guy to run against Bush in the Repug primary!

4. So, then, who is this...
and so many other distressed conservatives going to vote for?

Could they have a plan for a coup prior to their convention?

Gotta be one hell of a plan. Challenging an incumbant is a very tricky thing.

5. Looks like Dean is able to peel off paleo-cons from the Republican Party
Edited on Fri Sep-12-03 03:45 AM by w4rma
Interesting.

Remember Neo-Cons are the Corporatists.
Many Paleo-Cons are Regan Democrats turned Republican and Ross Perot voters.

6. Charley Reese no arch conservative
He had articles in local paper for years and I communicated with him and found him to be reasonable. His article was dropped because it was not conservative enough for a Freedom Newspaper.

7. I agree , swinney
He may not be a "liberal", per se. but he's certainly no "arch conservative".

I read his columns all the time - very good source for Bush bashing!

8. Charley Reese gets it right...
Edited on Fri Sep-12-03 07:58 PM by lib4life
sort of. His assessment of Bush is delightfully sharp, while I reluctantly supported this war, his analysis of Kerry as a two-face, Lieberman as Bush-lite, and Dean as the only consistent candidate is dead on. He's winger, but there's hope for him.

9. The thing is, true "paleo-conservatives"
Are not committed to Capitalism as the most fundamental social value. They prefer private enterprise, yes, but given evidence or a reasonable argument that a particular manifestation of Capital conflicts with their other core values, they'll jettison Capital.

10. His approach reminds me of what the Republican party is supposed to be
about - self responsibility. I like him.

However, the Grand Ole Party has been taken hostage and is being used by corporate big wigs and special interests, hey, kind of like alot of whats happening in our own Party!
