1. so where's the evidence?

Josh Marshall points the finger at Joe Trippi and accuses "the Dean campaign" of dirty tricks, but the rumors are unsourced. meanwhile, quoting Dean's words on the matter, everything the man himself said about the Clark/VP rumors is completely straightforward and above-board.

imho if any campaign is at fault here, it's at least partially the fault of the Clark campaign, because they've made rumors their standard operating procedure for months now. everything about their candidate has been a rumor, from his party affiliation to when/if he'll announe. if their guy would officially announce, maybe they'd be better able to quash rumors. at least, the rumors that they themselves are not responsible for.
