Just tell people what is healthier
http://dailymail.com/news/Dave+Peyton-20030922/

Once I weighed 240 pounds. Now I weigh about 180. The method I used to lose that weight is going to kill me, or so say most dietitians.
I have a friend -- a libertarian friend -- who says the best thing that could happen to America would be for businesses to stop paying their employees' health insurance.

That's also the opinion of conservative economist Milton Friedman, who says health care is a commodity much like food and automobiles. Our employers don't provide us with food or cars, he says. Why should they provide us with subsidized health care?

1. Well, if they paid us less we would be more careful about spending money.

3. National healthcare
No - employers should not be supplying health insurance, but the gov should.
But I guess it depends on one's values. Milton Friedman can pay his medical bills and would not feel badly that others are less fortunate and may live shortened lives, live with unnecessary disabilities because they lack the cash. I guess it would not bother him to see children with cancer go untreated because the parents cannot shell out $200,000. The funny thing is that it could have been Friedman's lawn chemicals that caused the kid to get sick in the first place.

Maybe he would feel better after an elevator ride with some uninsured people with TB. What should we do with uninsured people with SARS - kill them so they won't get the rich people sick?

Tax dollars are spent on medical research, so would Milton Friedman have only people with the cash fund the research - or does he think that everyone should be taxed to pay for medical research that only the wealthy can use it?

Milton Friedman and others value money over everything else. Cannot respect people with those values.
