Iraq is not Vietnam (Salon.com)
Iraq is not Vietnam
Edward W. Lempinen
Salon.com - Sept. 22, 2003
... A vocal bloc of the antiwar left does not see the invasion of Iraq as a liberation. It cannot. Its rage against Bush, while justified, is so powerful that it overwhelms subtlety and nuance. In such a polarized political climate, one cannot embrace the possibility of liberation without seeming to embrace Bush and Cheney. Because that latter embrace is impossible, it becomes impossible for some to strike a firm, constructive alliance with the Iraqi people.

3. Cleland Voted FOR the War
What is Max Cleland doing? He denounces the war in Iraq, but he voted for it.

7. Yes I loved that article by Max
It got posted here a couple of days ago with an Atlanta URL. Glad to see Max is back in the game, at least venting. You go Max. You call out those chickenhawks.

Lies and the lying liars that tell them. Both sides are to blame, but bu$h can't use plausible deniability. He knew and we know he knew he was lying.

4. He's right. It's not Vietnam. It's Lebanon, early 1980's. . .
Just ask Ariel Sharon...

Wonder how long it will take until it becomes like Lebanon 1983??
(241 Marines and sailors killed in their barracks by a terrorist truck bomb October 1983)

I'm holding my breath and praying I do not wake up in the morning to the news that one of Saddam's palaces (now headquarters and barracks for US troops) was leveled hit by a truck bomb. But something tells me it's just a matter of time.

:grr:
