Missoulian editorial: "GOP shows no spending restraint"
http://missoulian.com/articles/2005/06/14/opinion/opinion3.txt

It may not be accurate to accuse President Bush and the Republican majority in control of Congress of spending like drunken sailors. Drunken sailors can be expected to sober up the next morning, presumably with some degree of regret. Leaders of the Grand Overspending Party show no sign of slowing their profligacy.

... Slivinski also takes us back to the mid-1990s when Republicans finally gained control of Congress after 40 years of Democratic domination. The 101 largest programs Republicans vowed to eliminate under their "Contract with America," rule have actually enjoyed a combined spending increase of 27 percent - even after the numbers were adjusted for inflation.

The GOP used to be the party that stood for smaller government. It's important for everyone to understand that's no longer the case.

1. The GOP only stood for smaller government for ordinary people,
not for the wealthy and powerful. The "small government GOP" is a myth, just like the "strong on defense GOP" is a myth.

6. Right On! We don't need the department of Homeland Security
Just another example of the neo-Nazis padded the government with megabuck jobs for their delusional cohorts. Why should public funds always go to right wingers. Think about it. The FBI, CIA et Alia, they don't crusade for progressive causes, because they follow fascist ideology.
