"The Presidential Bubble" -NY Times Editorial
"Four progressive political groups sued the Bush administration this week, charging that the Secret Service is systematically keeping protesters away from the president's public appearances. They make a serious point about free speech rights, but they also point out a disturbing aspect of the Bush White House: the country has a chief executive who seems to embrace the presidential bubble."

Lots more. A good read, but I'm wondering why they are just waking up to the fact that Shrub doesn't read but just looks at pictures?

Here's the link to the full editorial:

2. And then there were the pictures last week of Bill wading into a crowd
in Bosnia.

God, I miss a real president.

3. This represents a turning point.
Dont forget, in addition CNN is now waking up to the jobs export issue, Miami is going to be in the limelight for their protest rules...

It seems to me the media was waiting until it got closer to the elections to bring all this to the pulci's attention. Smart move IMHO since the average American has a shorter attention span than *'s plan for post war Iraq...

Later,
JM

4. But, but, but...
Shrub has complained several times about living in "the bubble." In Berlin, in May 2002, when he met with Schroeder. (When he famously said: "Yes, the human condition is very important to me.") And when comparing Crawford or "the homeland" to Washington, DC. He says he doesn't like the bubble, that he likes to meet people anywhere, and being cut off from them is "frustrating."

Or did he say, "Who cares what you think?"

5. The real bubble is the public perception
Edited on Thu Sep-25-03 07:32 AM by teryang
...that the chimp is president or even presidential. He's a complete fucking moron being manipulated by various groups of carpetbaggers who have taken over the country and turned it into a banana republic.

This is similar to the stock market bubble, the Enron bubble, the 911 bubble, the war on terror bubble, the deficit bubble, the electronic voting bubble, and other cons projected by the power structure to mislead and exploit the ever gullible public.
