Political Elite Is Schizophrenic
We want a fresh face. And then when one comes along, we morph "fresh" into "inexperienced and untested."

We crave candidates who are even mildly unscripted, who dare to toss the odd sprinkle of spontaneity into the processed pablum of politics. And then when one comes along, we jump on the inevitable gaffes and tongue-slips with arsenic-laced keyboards and soundbites. They’re damned if they do, damned if they don’t.

The "we" here is not "We the people" but we the political elite (and I use the term very loosely): the political press, the punditocracy, the talking heads, the consultants.

How about someone who can make a speech without reading a teleprompter! Someone who can talk from his mind and not from a junta of handlers!

1. Not gonna happen
As long as the skull and bones scociery is still around, it helps promote the elites who have never even worked a 9-5 job to get into goverment positions, by creating a Brother hood that one can not back away from.

2. What I want is
someone smarter than me, capable, someone whose intellect and ethics are far above the average, someone with passion and compassion, with a liberal heart and an intellectual head. This, plus the ability to get it done. Who is the last politician you looked up to? Who would you have liked for a mentor? My choice: Eugene McCarthy.
