Activists say memo should prompt impeachment talk
By Ruby L. Bailey and Ely Portillo
Knight Ridder Newspapers

WASHINGTON - A hearing Thursday on a secret British intelligence memo that said President Bush was committed to waging war on Iraq months before he said so publicly ended with a request for Congress to open an inquiry into whether Bush should be impeached for misleading the nation.

"All we’re asking is to know the truth," said John Bonifaz, co-founder of AfterDowningStreet.org. "Some of his supporters want to say it’s a question of failed intelligence. If that’s all it was, so be it."

But if not, said Bonifaz, "then the American people and the U.S. Congress deserve to know."

The hearing focused on the now-famous Downing Street memo, named after the Downing Street office of British Prime Minister Tony Blair. The memo was written on July 23, 2002, by a top Blair adviser. <snip>

1. The memo: From "so-called" to "now famous"

It's working.

4. Why Was He Identified As An "Activist"?
When in fact if anything he should have been described as "An Attorney" and it might have been mentioned that his speciality is Constititional law.

Just another nip at the heels of giving a clear story.

5. Enough Talk! I WANT ACTION!
Impeach the bastard already, denazify the Executive and Legislative branches, and then clean out the Judiciary. Then let the states take care of their little fascists.

6. You Have Just Written A "Letter To The Editor"
You may not know it but if you change the word "Bastard" to "Bush" you have written a perfectly presentable letter to the editor that might be published in any local newspaper. Why not send it to yours? Everyone here already agrees with you, send your thought out to your neighbors and maybe they will begin to come around to agree with you as well, or at least maybe they will begin to investigate why you would say such a thing.
