EVERYONE AGREES GLOBAL WARMING IS WRECKING OUR PLANET ... EVERYONE EXCEPT THOSE WHO CAN STOP IT

Tulsi Khara can sense something serious is happening. For more than 70 years she has lived on the Ganges delta in India, scraping a living off the land. But now, most of her precious two hectares has disappeared under rising waters. “We have lost our livelihood,” she said. “Displacement and death are everywhere here. The land is shrinking and salty water gets into our fields. Why is nature turning so violent?”

Khara is a victim of climate change. Along with millions of others around the world, she is not some vague future statistic. She is living, breathing proof that the planet’s entire weather system is out of joint – or rather, has been put out of joint.

Nature is turning violent because of humanity. The pollution that belches from every vehicle, every factory, every farm and every home is rising up into the atmosphere and bouncing the sun’s reflected rays back to Earth, causing the greenhouse effect. As a result, the globe is gradually warming, and the climate rapidly deteriorating into chaos. Polar ice is melting, sea levels are rising, storms are increasing, droughts are becoming more frequent – and more communities around the globe are suffering.

These people do not have much political power, and will not pull much weight around the table at Gleneagles. But they are harbingers of the kinds of fate that await the rest of humanity, sooner or later, if climate change is not slowed down. G8 leaders ignore them at their peril.

1. Weather here in CA is very strange. LA got record rains this year.
More than San Francisco, and that has never happened.

3. That's OK. ExxonMobil is doing research on the environment.....
and they will determine what effect all the emissions are having on our environment and the planet. I feel better knowing they are on the job looking out for our best interest.:puke:
