1. thanks for that refresher..
I remember when powell was telling hans blix,"I know where the bio/chem. weapons are" blix replied,"tell me i"ll go right away unannounced,we have free access to any part of iraq" timid powell replied,I cant if i tell you and you dont find any wmd's,you'll blow my informants cover" let's not forget it was Bolton who was behind the niger-uranium yellowcake fable/fiasco...shame on the red americans who still support our con artist-in chief...

 :hi: :dem:

3. Not only that, but the only reason Bush went to the UN in the first place
was to try and get an inspections resolution that Saddam would reject: a British plan to try and make an illegal war legal. (This is amply shown by material in the "September six" cabinet papers, and especially in the Jul 21 briefing paper:

14. It is just possible that an ultimatum could be cast in terms which Saddam would reject (because he is unwilling to accept unfettered access) and which would not be regarded as unreasonable by the international community. However, failing that (or an Iraqi attack) we would be most unlikely to achieve a legal base for military action by January 2003.

Their whole plan was to have their SCR rejected by Saddam Hussein! This doesn't marry very well with the idea of "seeking a peaceful resolution"!

Since Saddam towed the line on UN SCR 1441, it didn't work anyway..
