Why public broadcasting is important
One of the best teachers I ever had was "Sesame Street."

The popular PBS television program profoundly affected my childhood. I learned to read by the age of 4, in part because of the show. It taught me life lessons and social skills; I learned the importance of imagination and diversity. Even as a small child, I never questioned the normalcy of people of all shapes, sizes and ethnic backgrounds coexisting. <snip>

2. I thought Bert and Ernie were gay...
I can't keep up with all of the characters.

Of course the sick f--ks who think that puppets (or Muppet's) are gay or what ever are seriously emotionally ill and need extensive psychotherapy and psychotropic drugs.

4. WTF???
Elmo was after my time so I don't know. I can grasp why many would say Bert and Ernie are gay--after all they are two guys sharing a bedroom for decades. ;)

But what is this about Big Bird being a welfare queen???

just how much of a positive image "Sesame Street" presented of their country to the rest of the world from the 1970's onwards.

Much of that good work is being undone by the current criminal administration, of course.

(BTW, I bet Oscar the Grouch is a Repub)
