PBS Cuts (affect in IN)
<snip> It's a script WFIU's Chad Buchard has become all too familiar with. "A House of Representatives committee voted to eliminate over 40-percent of the funding to public broadcasting. To WFIU, this would be a critical loss."

Those federal cuts could mean big changes to public radio and television In the Wabash Valley. WFIU station manager Christina Kuzmych says, "The impact is going to be large for both radio and television. In our station it would mean around $200,000."

And, the WILL stations out of Champaign-Urbana could lose almost $300,000.

Just to put those numbers in perspective, when you tune into 95.1 in Terre Haute, you expect to hear national news programming from NPR. Well, that programming costs stations $200,000. That's the same amount many stations may lose. <snip>
