The Purpose of American Power by Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr.
<snip>In my judgment, America faces two overriding national security challenges in this new century.

We must win the struggle between freedom and radical fundamentalism. And we must keep the world’s most dangerous weapons away from its most dangerous people.<snip>

6. More Imperialist claptrap from the corporatist capital
Delaware:

<And reforming failed or anti-democratic states that are sources of instability, radicalism, and terror.>

America's excuse for interfering in the internal affairs of other countries, anytime, anyplace.

<Because that might is so much greater than anyone else’s.>

Biden's appeal to jingoistic mythology.

<Most of the threats we face — from radical Islamic fundamentalism to the spread of weapons of mass destruction — to rogue states that flout the rules — have no respect for borders.>

It is the US which has no respect for borders as we have clearly demonstrated by our Nuremburg Law violation in Iraq.

<There was never any doubt we could defeat Saddam without a single foreign soldier.>

The war isn't over yet.

<Which is one reason North Korea’s nuclear arsenal has apparently increased by 400 percent these past four years.>

There is no physical evidence that N.Korea has any nuclear weapons.

<It gives a green light to India and Pakistan, Russia and Chechnya, China and Taiwan to use force first and ask questions later.>

You approved the war which established the precedent.

<It would include new international laws to seize suspect cargoes on the high seas and in international airspace.>

This is the very sort of pre-emptive act of war which you claim to be opposed to.

<We must be willing and prepared to empower experts to plan post-conflict reconstruction ahead of time, not on the fly.>

In other words, more wars in the mill. This ought to instill confidence in the rest of the world concerning our intentions.

<I applauded President Bush’s second inaugural address about expanding freedom.>

He applauded the war monger after our own rigged elections.

8. If Biden voted for the Patriot Act, his speaking of freedom would be
hypocritical IMHO.

9. And, Senator Biden that begins at HOME with our own policies....
But, of course, he's running for 2008 and wants to project that "strong, tough" image that's been so successful for Bush. :eyes:

10. Joe is an embarassing corporate whore--he's one of the few remaining...
examples of that old saying "there aint a dime's worth of difference between the two parties."

If democrats were like Biden, our choice would be between a corporate ass-kissing party with religious nuts...and one without.
