A blogger pointed me to some good data on Iraq. He made the point (in an odd sorta way) that it should be a basic reference for reporters working the Iraq story. The author claims he never sees this stuff referenced. I have to admit I've never seen it. It was a good read. Some numbers that really don't qualify as "last throes". http://apshort.blogspot.com/2005/06/underused-iraq-index.htmlThe referenced data: http://www.brookings.edu/dybdocroot/fp/saban/iraq/index.pdf

gas line lengths in miles

Public opinion polling (Iraq moving in right direction)
