It's Islam or us

The only good that will come out of the tragic bombings in London is that it will seep away the complacency that has infected the American public, and drive the Dick Durbins of the nation back under their rocks. It will also serve to underscore the fact that we, and the West in general, are imperiled by a barbaric religion and no amount of appeasing actions on our part will satisfy the demented followers of Islam.

The only solution is to strangle the growth of Islam in the West. It may well be that Islam will be the first religion that will have to be outlawed in the United States and, if it is not suppressed due to ''religious freedom,'' the U.S. Constitution could become Islam's ally and our death warrant.

We have to realize that Islam is the enemy and the Quran is the guidebook to the ending of our Western civilization.

Just as Stalin had his ''useful idiots'' in an earlier day to spread the virtues of communism in the United States, al-Qaida has America's far left wing, quick to spin any terrorist attack into a tirade on the evils of George W. Bush, Republicans, our soldiers, our corporations and our country in general.

Yes, dissent plays an important role in the continued health of our country. But just as every citizen has the right to their own opinion, no one has a right to their own facts. The left's continued distortion of the truth about events in Iraq, the Patriot Act and our motivations in the war on terror only aids and gives comfort to the enemy at a time of war.

The Bush administration makes up their own facts on Iraq and lets Osama Bin-Laden run free. Yet we're providing "aid and comfort". What a loon.

There was earlier a post that Bushco is using the words hate and evil a lot. This only further supports the desire of the right to drive a wedge into the voice of reason. They stand for intolerance and have no desire to hold up the constitution of the USA.

7. Some "Chicagoland" white males prone to virulent racism
I grew up in the area and have over the last few years renewed contacts there - mainly to care for an elderly parent. And I have observed a strain of 50 and 60 something white males display a knee jerk racial hatred. This runs across both college educated and blue collar men. These guys' wives tend to be passive, apolitical, vote-like-hubby-tells- them. These guys love to forward brainlessly incorrect and scathing attacks on blacks, Muslims and "liberals" of any race. One of the scariest is a retired cop and his email coterie of buddies. When I "replied to all" with the correct facts from Snopes, and politely suggested that people should check out facts before forwarding email attacks, one of them threatened to strap me to a scud missile and drop me on Baghdad. Of course, not one of them could refute the facts from Snopes. Yes, I know there are a lot of very strong dems and liberals in Chicago, but the Windy City has got a very virulent strain of fascist Repubs there too. Hence the letters you quoted.

17. Sorry to say that same virulent racist hatred is what made up the
good old USA from it's inception and is thriving rather well if you choose to see. What group has not been the main of hatred by white males? Indians, Blacks,Mexicans,Poor Whites and the list goes on. Now even more so than not Christian is being lobbed to take away the
obvious but this sure is not the brand of Christian practiced and left by the founder of Christianity. What a sad state of events for a nation that has it all but yet it's hatred will cause it to loose it all.
