Jesus Takes the A Train
Jesus Takes the A Train
by Alicia James, NEWSMEAT - June 30th, 2005
<http://www.newsmeat.com/video/Jesus_Takes_the_A_Train.php>

As celebration of Billy Graham's Crusade gets under way in New York, hundreds of evangelicals swarm through New York looking for converts. Clean-cut, white high school and college students from California, Texas, and Florida try to convert commuters on the run.

<snip>

(Every woman must be accompanied by a protective male escort in case of trouble, warns the organizer.)

<snip>

When the doors swing open, Meyer and his followers rush in and spread throughout the crowd. To the amusement of bored riders, Meyer starts singing Amazing Grace. One fellow evangelist wearing dark glasses preaches along, while the others play devil's advocates and pick fights. The passengers then join in on the singing, mostly scoffing. The cycle begins again a few stops down the line, where the evangelists jump out and get on the next train.

Is this what Jesus would do?

1. So these people go to NYC, a cultural wonderland...and they ride the
Subway?...:wtf:

I am a transplanted NY'er, and let me tell you, about the last thing people want to do is ride the Subway, (except to get somewhere); and starting mock 'fights' in the Subway can be dangerous to ones health...:D

Perhaps if they knew about the Museum of Natural History, the 42nd Street Library, the Guggenheim, Ellis Island, The Statue of Liberty, The Bronx Zoo, Central Park or any of a thousand other things, they could take some stories back to the homefront about how cities are not hellholes, and there really are decent people out there.

First the GOP Convention, then Evangelicals...:scared: NYC will weather these storms though...:D

2. These people are idiots
You can clearly see that all of the regular riders are pissed off. You have to be a real 'moran' to be picking fights on the subway. Good way to lose consciousness.
The passengers that joined in were no doubt tourists, believe me.
