Daniel Shorr: Rove and Iraq War Data (he is angry) |
|
Shorr's opinion piece on All Things Considered. It seemed quite strong for the usually mild mannered (and boring) Shorr. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4752466

3. Schorr isn't boring to me. |
|
He was the first journalist I heard that mentioned the Downing Street Memo...Before it got real popular here.
And he tied Rovegate to the Bush Administration's effort to get us into a war. He was real strong on that today. He said Bush made up his mind to go to war and needed a casus belli. I wish a few other talking heads had his intellect and his guts.

4. I think Shorr is right, though my opposition to der Bushler... |
|
...is more based on the notion that the war as yet another symptom of his manipulative approach to politics in general, which in turn is symptomatic of his entire ethos -- obscene favoritism of the plutocracy and bottomless malice toward working Americans.

6. I just heard this piece on NPR and was amazed and yelling @ radio |
|
He is pissed. Way pissed. It is about the WH leaking Plames name in direct retaliation for Wilson contradicting the WH, about the uranium and the WH using falsified info to lead us into war. It was a very good, informative summary, telling who what why and he is pissed. I was yelling at the radio as I drove along "arghhhh!!!!!!!!!!!" because of what he was saying. It was really good. I hate Mr.bushandhisevilminions and they have lied and murdered and arrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the past, I thought that no one at NPR had the heart to tell Schorr to stop coming into the office to do his commentaries.
However, he has provided some insightful thoughts lately. Last week, he emphasized a point in the Judith Miller jailing that no one else is talking about -- they jailed Judith Miller to try to intimidate whistleblowers in the Administration. They want everyone to know that confidential sources do not have any right to confidentially under Federal law. It is only under laws of most States that confidential sources to the press are protected.

Was going to be involved with a late night "real news" show Frank Zappa pitched to Fox in the very early 90's.
He was a friend to Zappa and gave a very touching eulogy to Frank on NPR.
