Waco Tribune: Journalists burned again

Very surprising-this is the closest big city to Crawford. The author writes about being careful of confidential sources.
<snip>

So if Rove is the confidential source who also released Cooper from his pledge, why is Miller still in jail? Who is she protecting?

Perhaps there are multiple leakers in the Bush administration willing to expose undercover agents for political gain.

Bush used to have a lot to say about how he will not tolerate leakers in his administration and how he wants special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald to find and punish the culprits.Now that Rove's name has surfaced, there is less talk about squashing leakers.

1. It sounds like they are criticizing the press - read the ending:
When the Washington Post was burned by a fabricated story backed up by a fabricated confidential source, the editors promised to tighten their internal controls.

A generation later, that still sounds like good advice.
