4. We need to keep our eyes on the big picture (ball): those who obstruct |
|
the truth from coming out, be they in the Administration, the Congress, or the MSM are all obstructing justice and that's possibly criminal. What Rove did is of little significance in the big scheme of things, to wit: why he did it and at whose behest are the much larger questions.

This editorial very articulately and succinctly summarizes the entire Traitorgate affair.
And it keeps the real story about this scandal front and center.
The motive for the crime was the White House's need to protect the the BIG lie ... the WMD lie that was the reason for the Bush-ordered attack, invasion, and occupation of Iraq.

5. Yeah and they are so good at sidetracking that. I am hearing the line |

that Rove was just trying to correct a "lie". The alleged lie is that Wilson says he was sent to Niger by Cheney. Of course they imply the lie is Wilson's information on the yellow cake. Which of course was proven to be true. The tricks by this White House never ceases to amaze me. They know how much blind faith they can instill through constant barrage of patriotic blather.

bit of a disconnect there. They tell you a story about how Rove deliberately told a reporter about Wilson's wife, thereby revealing her identity, and then they act as if whether or not he deliberately revealed her identity is open to question. :wtf:
He obviously did what he did, and he did it deliberately. The only real question left is a technical one: did Rove break the law? Let's say he can prove that someone told him about Plame's wife, but did not tell him exactly who she was. That is, Rove did not know that he was "outing" a NOC agent when he told reporters about Wilson's wife.
I doubt this is the case myself. I think that these guys were involved in such a nasty internecine war with the CIA at this point in time that they considered people at Langley that didn't toe their line to be enemies. I think they set out to make an object lesson out of Valerie Wilson, in spite of who she was, and I think they thought they could get away with it.
I think Bush knew; and if Bush knew, Rove knew.
On Edit: Actually, on second thought, I could see how Bush might not really know everything about this. Cheney could have kept things compartmentalized so that Bush and Rove really just thought she was some analyst over at the CIA that was getting in the way. Time will tell I guess. My wettest dream is that Fitzgerald busts Cheney. Man, that would be so sweet!
