Penalize Rush for illegal use of the mouth
The sick thing is, this is exactly what ESPN had in mind when the all-sports network hired veteran provocateur Rush Limbaugh for its Sunday NFL pregame show. You can imagine the meeting. The ESPN bigwigs must have needed drool cups to handle the runoff when they discussed the controversy Limbaugh would generate.

Well, here it is. Just be advised, ESPN, that you're not fooling anyone. You brought this tired act out of his radio closet, where he rants to people who already agree with him, to stir things up. Prepare to get spattered.

The smart thing would be to ignore it. Thing is, nobody ever called sportswriters smart. So there you have it.

Limbaugh's idea of commentary Sunday involved an absurd attack on Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb and on "the media" that have overrated him because "the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There's interest in black quarterbacks and coaches doing well." McNabb, Limbaugh said, isn't "as good as everyone says he has been."<snip>

Well, it didn't take too long for this to happen. Surprise. surprise!!!!!

1. And now when the Rushbots see his ugly mug
They'll change the channel to something else and finally quit listening to his right-wing crap.

2. I am a huge football fan ...
Edited on Tue Sep-30-03 09:21 AM by Drifter
I have used ESPN (TV & Web) for years as my single source for sports information.

Since I heard that the "Big Wind" was going to be appearing on ESPN, I have not watch a single moment of their programming (nor have I visited their website).

I do not even watch ABC (MNF) because I think they are also in on having the "Pig Man" on.

It's not that big of a sacrific.

Cheers

3. What surprises me about this
is that it took so long for Rush to f**k up. I was getting a little disappointed in him. At least now he's living down to his reputation as a race-baiter, and the nice thing is that he's doing it in front of the general public, not just a self-selected demographic of booger-pickin' morons. Maybe now that the fat turd is trying to float in the mainstream, he'll be seen as the stinking pollution that he is, hopefully soon to be flushed back to his septic tank of a radio show. BTW, Al Franken in his book "Rush Limbaugh is a big fat liar" gave at least two examples of what can happen when Rush tries to operate in front of a regular audience, neither of which was very pretty. If ESPN is paying any attention to their advertising demographics they should be cutting him from their team very soon.

4. Does Limbaugh watch Football?
Edited on Tue Sep-30-03 09:44 AM by Homer12
Over-rating black quarter backs! What the hell is he talking about?

Man, I'm a green bay fan, and on opening day I saw Dante Caulpeper (a black quarter-back if Rush does not know), destroy my team.

Over-rated my lilly-white ass!

Rush is already shooting himself in the foot by trying to push-his agenda on football fans. I stopped watching ESPN for most of my coverage, I use the internet.

6. Who sponsors this show?
I don't watch football and would never support this pig by watching any show he is on, but I WILL boycott any advertisers on this ESPN show. ESPN will boot him quick (allowing him any easy way out so as not to embarrass him, I'm sure) when his mouth interfers with their revenue.

9. From watching McNabb play at SU as the QB,
I can now honestly say that Rush knows as little about football as he does about politics! McNabb is a super QB, he's just had a rough start. I said that about Miller the first time I saw him co-hosting the football games, also. :) Is it just me, or is Rush's blabbering pretty racist?
