CNN's Bob Lang Political Cartoon... WTF?
http://www.cnn.com/POLITICS/analysis/toons/2005/07/16/lang/index.html

I do not get it.

Lang is insinuating that Democrats have outed CIA operatives before.

I hope I am not being incredibly naive here, but can anyone explain to what this guy is referring?

Even if it is bad for our side, it is always good to have all the facts.

5. A political cartoon is bad when you need a guy in the frame to explain it.

"My god you are deluded. What a stupid cartoon http://www.cnn.com/POLITICS/analysis/toons/2005/07/16/lang/index.html . Explain when dems thought it was okay to expose a CIA operative. And Roves problems are not just about the traitorous exposing an agent, but his motivations to not get to the bottom of the forged Niger document. The document is tied to an Italian group that has links back to Rove. And all this to support the assertion in the DSM that 'intelligence will be fixed'. It is all tied to together. "

Subject: Your "poor persecuted Rove" editorial cartoon
To: editserv@fwi.com

"GEE,IT WASN'T THAT LONG AGO WHEN THEY Democrats] WOULDN'T THINK TWICE ABOUT EXPOSING CIA
OPERATIVES".

Question: Was this in reference to an actual event, or
was it something you heard on the Rush Limbag show?

Next question: Do you, like Limbag whever he gets HIS
tail in a crack, describe yourself as an "entertainer"
rather than a commentater?

Sincerely, (signed)

PS to"dbonds": I like yours better. I suggest to all others here to use thatas a model for their own. Let that CREEP know that he won't get away with cheap-shot LIES .... maybe to Ditto-heads, but not to others.

10. Reply to the above:
Thank you for expressing your opinion about Mr. Lang's recent
cartoon.
Unfortunately, due to the high volume of correspondence we receive
daily,
it is impossible for Mr. Lang to answer each submission.

Yeah, RIGHT! It makes one wonder why they solicited comments in the first place! I wasn't really expectinmg an a personal reply, but I was hoping (fondly!) to see reader comments posted on that page. They don't DARE, of course!

8. This guy is a fascist.
And not even funny. I always maintain that even if we are right about everything, it's still possible to make fun of the Dems. This is a piss poor attempt. The comment about explaining your own cartoon is spot on.

9. Are these all red herrings to point to the "bias" monitors and say:
"see - we are not taking sides". I really think CNN is getting the story out. And every so often they say something silly about Dems. Just so they can keep getting away with reporting as they are.

Perhaps I am too optimistic. But could it not be a way to protect themselves from accusations of liberal bias? I mean the Repukes are sneaky. Why wouldn't CNN be so too?

11. Victimology 101.
The implication is that we all are ganging up on poor Karl Rove.
Tinsley is very attached to this style too, and Ramirez at the LAT.
