I hope you are right

WARNING FROM LYNDON LAROUCHE
Cheney's 'Guns of August' Threaten the World
by Jeffrey Steinberg

Lyndon LaRouche, on July 27, issued an international alert, covering the period of August 2005, which is the likely timeframe for Vice President Dick Cheney, with the full collusion of the circles of British Prime Minister Tony Blair, to unleash the recently exposed plans to stage a pre-emptive tactical nuclear strike against Iran.

The danger of such a mad, Hitler-in-the-bunker-style aggressive military action by the Cheney circles would be even further heightened, were the United States Congress to stick with its present schedule, and go into recess from July 30 until Sept. 4. With Congress out of Washington, and with President George W. Bush on extended vacation in Maine and Texas, the Cheney-led White House would almost certainly unleash a "Guns of August" attack on Iran, LaRouche warned.<1>

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has called for the Senate to remain in session for much of August—at least until the stalled Defense Authorization Bill is thoroughly debated and passed.

On July 27, after the Senate defeated a cloture vote which would have blocked a series of amendments to the bill, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) had indicated that he would hold the defense bill until September, a move that Reid strongly opposed.

4. He's just a poor, wannabe Illuminati
They won't let him into the club, because he's a nut. Well, MORE of a nut than they are. So he pretends to be 'in the know' anyway.

However, I have suspected he's been used in some real disinfo operations, either knowingly or not.

6. nuts
Oh, by the way, Hitler was in a bunker and insane because his little plot to conquer the world was disintegrating around him and the soviet red army was laying siege to Berlin. I don't see the red army, or any army, laying siege to Washington any time soon.

8. OK, so...
I agree they are nuts but at the last Tom Delay "Townhall Meeting" I attended ( I live in that lowlife fuck's district) the Larouches were the only ones to show up and give him hell. I wish we had their passion.

10. I don't know if he's nuts, but he not the only one talking about this
There are LOTS of rumours of plans being drawn up that include tactical nuclear weapons being used in an attack on Iran, and such an attack has been talked about right here on DU.

You may not like LaRouche, but he is NOT saying anything many other people aren't saying.

12. there have been mentions of it on CNN as well, last Thursday I believe
There is a real fear that this is about to happen largely due to Chenney's power decreasing in the nation. We will see and soon.

Not Just A Last Resort?
A Global Strike Plan, With a Nuclear Option

By William Arkin

Sunday, May 15, 2005; Page B01

Early last summer, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld approved a top secret "Interim Global Strike Alert Order" directing the military to assume and maintain readiness to attack hostile countries that are developing weapons of mass destruction, specifically Iran and North Korea.

Two months later, Lt. Gen. Bruce Carlson, commander of the 8th Air Force, told a reporter that his fleet of B-2 and B-52 bombers had changed its way of operating so that it could be ready to carry out such missions. "We're now at the point where we are essentially on alert," Carlson said in an interview with the Shreveport (La.) Times. "We have the capacity to plan and execute global strikes." Carlson said his forces were the U.S. Strategic Command's "focal point for global strike" and could execute an attack "in half a day or less."

In the secret world of military planning, global strike has become the term of art to describe a specific preemptive attack. When military officials refer to global strike, they stress its conventional elements. Surprisingly, however, global strike also includes a nuclear option, which runs counter to traditional U.S. notions about the defensive role of nuclear weapons

16. Half-lies are more effective than full lies
Larouche has too many distortions in that only very careful observers and astute political students can discern between the BS and legitimate information.

Antiwar.com is a much better site (along with certain blogs) for hard-hitting articles that have good predictive value.
